In the educational world, we have many ways of learning the subjects taught to us. Through theory, practices, examples, experiences…also, through class trips, this latter is a pedagogical tool outside the classroom which purpose is to complement given learning with practices outside the school environment, it’s a better and more entertaining way to learn by experimenting with the real world.
Through class trips, students can visit places of interest depending on their studies such as: museums, parks, cultural and historical institutions, among others. Visiting these types of places students can apply the learned theoretical knowledge, experimenting by themselves and discovering new interests.
Although, these trips don’t need to be necessarily educational; they can be school events among students to share with their groups and friends in outdoor activities to promote support and socialization.
Social skills can also be growing by having to interact with classmates, guides and people of the places they are visiting. Class trips are entertaining depending on the student’s academic interests according to what they are studying. During these trips Professors can assign the students to analyze, study or investigate any interesting aspect they discovered or learned from that trip. It’s important to ask students what other places they would like to visit to go next time.
In my opinion, class trips improve our way of learning with experiences and these ones help to retain knowledge with practices and application in the real world because it goes beyond the theoretical and it will be very useful in the future.
