CCBP Camping 2023

Last July 5th, our High School camp was held, after 3 years in which it was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. It lasted 3 days and took place at the Christian camp “Palabra de Vida” in Punta Chame.

Days before the camp took place, several students were interviewed about their expectations regarding the camp, most of them answered that they would like to feel God’s presence over them and enjoy the time they would spend with their classmates. Several teachers were also interviewed and gave a similar response: The young people would put aside their cell phones to spend time with their classmates while they had an encounter with God.

The camp included various outdoor activities such as volleyball, a rally, basketball, and soccer. However, the recreational activities that caught the most attention were water sports.

This year different types of workshops were implemented, some of them were: First Aids, Camping, Jewelry, and Acting.

The theme of this year’s camp was “DEFINED”, this refers to how young people must choose between good and evil in order to establish a healthy relationship with God. During the three days, several plenary sessions and worship services were held with the participation of our teachers and guest pastors, all of which had the topic of definition as their main theme.

The first night the students were asked to write down their dreams or goals for the future, on a piece of paper, these were thrown in the campfire to be burned, symbolizing that we leave our dreams and hopes for the future in God’s hands.

On the second night, the Color Fest and the final phase of the Rally took place. Each grade was assigned a color to support their respective representative as they show off their talents on the stage. This was definitely a night to remember!

In the last plenary, teachers prayed for students commending them to the Lord; a special prayer was said for the graduating class.

At the end of the camp the students were interviewed again about the things they liked the most about the camp, some of the answers were:
-The swimming pool
-The opening dance
-The Rally
However, a common response was that several were able to feel the presence of God.

In this camp we were able to experiment and get near Jesus presence, we can say that it was an activity carried in a dynamic and funny way that gave us the opportunity to define ourselves. Many of us want to go back next year to continue sharing and enjoying with our friends teachers and God.
