Bible Month

Bible Month

For us Christians, Bible month should be a time to reflect on how fortunate we are that we are free to celebrate the Holy Word of our Creator. It is a time to appreciate the beauty and importance of our guidelines as Christians in “The Bible”. September is the month chosen to celebrate this.

The first printing of the Bible translated into Spanish by Casiodoro Reina was completed on September 26, 1569, hence why the celebration date was chosen.  Years later, Cipriano de Valera revised this translation, which gave it the name of the best-known version, Reina Valera.

The objective of this celebration is that during this month the Christian family comes together to celebrate the word of God. The idea of this month is that we all come together as a family to think and be grateful for having the opportunity to have “The Bible” with total freedom, and also remember all the teachings that it gives us.

God gave us His word and intended it to be our daily spiritual food throughout our Christian lives. The messages, parables, and experiences contained in the Bible allow us to understand and appreciate the great work of salvation of Jesus Christ.
