September: the Bible Month

We Celebrate the Bible month as we remember an important milestone linked to Bible translation.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”

The translation that opens the doors to an entire community

On september 26, 1569 , the first Bible translated into Spanish was finished printing by Casiodoro of Queen called “Bible of the Bear” and would later be revised by Cipriano de Valera, becoming the Reina Valera translation, years later it became one of the most printed versions in the spanish-speaking community and used by Protestants churches.
The month of the bible, is celebrated personally and communally

The book that has changed the lives of millions of people

It’s a fact that The Holy Bible is the most read book in the entire human history, thus, has changed the life of so many people through the years.
But what is the reason behind this?
We could mention some points that could help us to answer that question:
●  It is maintained by its own merits giving credit to its sole author
●  Translated it into more than 3000 languages, covering 95% of world’s population
●  It answers life’s most frequently asked questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? What is the meaning of life? Is there life after death? How should people live their lives?
●  Is like a mirror that reflects the life of so many people and their spiritual condition
●  So many people find guide and hope through it

We asked to students on how the Bible has changed them

“The Bible is of great importance to me since I think it contains sacred words that God wants to transmit to us”
Nathalie Arias

“I use the bible in my private life to guide my steps and be a better person and in general, I think that every day the Bible has something to teach me in all the little moments of my life”
Manuel Cobas

Celebrated by millions over one and entire month

But… What is the importance of the Bible month?
We asked professors and students why they feel that the Bible month is important?

“The importance and value of the Holy Scriptures is remembered and emphasized”
Martín L. Méndez- Christian Education professor

“We must exalt the book that is our manual of life”
Cheirly Puello- Physical Education Professor

“Because emphasis is placed on the Word of God without any restriction”
Lisett Barrios- Spanish Professor

“It is a month to reflect and to recognize the importance of the Bible because it has teachings applicable to different habits in life and each time we read it, we learn something new”
Jean Jordan

“Well, for me the month of the Bible is very important, because we can celebrate the scriptures that God has provided for our salvation. That does not mean we should simply celebrate it only in the month of the Bible but that we must take it into account at all times since it is a gift from God to us.”
