With blazing glows of glory, by Juan David Morgan review

With blazing gleams of glory is a historical novel written by Juan David Morgan, where very important events are narrated to us, which mark the evolution of a department toward an independence and from this to what we see today. In this novel we look at the historical part of the Separation of Panama from Colombia, entering a revolutionary history of independence, corruption, sovereignty, imperialism, and construction, operating to build a commercial channel that would mark a new course in international relations not only from Panama but from Latin America.

As we already know, this book tells us about historical events, but beyond that, it becomes a novel, so the characters feel, speak, have hopes, and thanks to this author they are narrated with these needs.  When you read, you feel that they are more than fictional characters, you can see their feelings reflected, their fears of being discovered by the Colombian government. The way the journalist Henry Hall of the New York Journal reveals the drama according to his studies, thus looking for the truth behind the conspiracies and the less talked facts.

What can I say about this book? It’s honestly a wonderful read, it’s not just a historical book that you don’t even want to read, it’s a book that takes you back to their time, a book where you don’t even know where the fictional begins and where it ends, the objectivity, the desire for freedom, sovereignty, and the truth that some characters are loaded which is so strong that it infects you.

Is there anything I don’t like about this book? Yes, there is, but just a few:

  • This book, despite being very interesting, It is such a long run and may not interest you much, and it is a shame because, as I said, it is very interesting and educational.
  • The author’s narration is so good that you don’t know when the fictional begins and who the fictional characters are, certainly they have to be created to have a good understanding of the novel, and although this may be a pro, I also see it as a cons because many people do not know the story well and in those, I include myself and we can get confuse in certain parts.
